Dale Martin is steadily working his way up in the team roping-heading standings at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Historic Cowtown Coliseum. Martin won Saturday night with Clay Burnham with a 4.97 to earn $513.74 per man. Martin headed for Riley Williams Friday night to win an additional $256.87, placing third in the team roping. Riley Williams won Friday night with Cody McLuskey to win $513.74 each with a 4.37.
Tierra Gray from Portales, N.M., won Friday’s breakaway roping and $291.40 with a 2.76. Taylor Digh from Stephenville won Saturday’s breakaway roping and $291.40 with a 13.09, which included a plus ten for a broken barrier and was the only qualified run for the night.
John Douch won Saturday’s tie-down roping with a 9.66 to win $466.24. Douch is currently ranked first in the Southern Region of the college rodeo circuit in the tie-down roping as a member of the Hill College rodeo team. Westyn Hughes from Caldwell won Friday’s tie-down roping with an 8.55, worth $349.68.
Shaylee Hindman from Peaster won Friday’s barrel racing and $495.38 with a 13.83, while Cindy Mainus from Agra, OK., won $536.18 Saturday night with a 13.73.
Guatemalan bull rider Max Castro rode Slam Dunk for 75 points to win Friday’s bull riding and $500, with the only qualified ride of the night. Ben Garvin from Venus had the only qualified ride to win Saturday night with 83.75 on Captain Hook, winning $500.
Jacob Lewis from Stephenville spurred Easy Does It for 77 points to win the saddle bronc riding and $112.80. Shane Reynolds from Forestburg won the ranch bronc riding and $250 with 71 points on Broken Coil. Cherokee carried Payton Lackey from Blanco to 67 points, winning the bareback riding and $169.20.
